Our year one apprentice and parts cadet intake are housed at our Foundations Program quarters in Badili, Port Moresby in a setting that promotes learning and development living in an orderly, healthy and secure environment.
The quarters provides free accommodation, canteen, ablution and laundry facilities and promotes weekly recreational activity.
The Foundations Program education framework focuses on employability skills in balance with fundamental technical skills preparation. This focus is to help the intake develop positive habits and morals that will give them the best opportunity to be successful in the workplace, not only for the company, but also for them on a personal level.
Employability skills are the key personal attributes you need to enter, operate and thrive in the world of fulltime work. These are the transferable skills that we take with us from one work situation to another.
Our employability skills framework includes what our company thinks makes a good employee, and the personal attributes that contribute to overall employability are:

The program has been an extremely successful platform that fosters a high degree of loyalty between the company and the employee for a long term successful career with PNG’s largest automotive and marine distributor and dealer network.
Asco Academy Foundations Program
Asco Motors Fiji has started to look into getting more female apprentices in both service and panel. We are currently liaising with Fiji National University to get potential candidates for these roles. Currently we have shortlisted 3 three students and have conducted interviews for one of them.
This is being done to bring about gender equality in our workforce. Diversity and inclusion is top priority and to falsify the statement that technical jobs are for men, we would love to see the female talents on top of our list. We have females in service administration roles/service advisors, who have had technical experience from the workshop. We would like to see more females as senior technicians i...
